These pages contain information about the Discipline of Philosophy at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), and about academic Philosophy more generally.
The main point of the pages is to provide information for prospective philosophy students at UKZN. So the pages are focused on explaining what academic Philosophy is, what students who study it do, and what the value (vocational and otherwise) of studying philosophy is.
The discipline of Philosophy is a part of the College of Humanities at UKZN. You can find the college handbook (listing staff, qualifications, rules and syllabi) on this page. (Be warned – the handbook is very long, because it includes information on many qualifications and rules, offered on more than one campus.) The 2014 prospectus for undergraduate study at UKZN (including Philosophy) is available here (link opens in new page).
